RIFF JTAG – Easy repair Archos 50 Platinium supported

Repairing bricked Archos 50 Platinum is easy with the RIFF Box.
To resurrect Archos 50 Platinum:

• Solder JTAG cable to Archos 50 Platinum JTAG pads;
• Make sure Archos 50 Platinum is selected in the list of models;
• If you use battery, press Power On key;
• Click Resurrect button;
• Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
• Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

RIFF JTAG – Easy boot repair Samsung GT-i9195L Galaxy S4 Mini LTE (Samsung Serrano) supported

Repairing bricked Samsung I9195L is easy with the RIFF Box.
Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is inserted. Please note, battery must be charged. If battery is not charged enough there is chance of getting 0×42 error during connection stage.
To resurrect Samsung I9195L:

• Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I9195L JTAG pads;
• Connect USB cable or insert battery;
• Make sure Samsung I9195L is selected in the list of models;
• Click Resurrect button;
• Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
• Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

RIFF JTAG – Samsung GT-i8190L Galaxy S III Mini Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported

Repairing bricked Samsung I8190L is easy with the RIFF Box.
Please note, USB cable must be either disconnected or connected to PC. Charger is not allowed. In order to establish connection, insert battery and press Power On.
Problem to establish JTAG connection means the device is dead up to the loader which enables JTAG. In this case phone must be detected via USB cable as “U8500 USB ROM”. Please install drivers which are located in JTAG Manager “Drivers\NTU8500” folder, leave USB cable connected and start resurrection again.
To resurrect Samsung I8190L:

• Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I8190L JTAG pads;
• Attach battery and connect USB cable;
• Make sure Samsung I8190L is selected in the list of models;
• Click Resurrect button;
• If required, press Power On key;
• Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
• Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.
To enter download mode:
Disconnect PC cable;
Insert battery;
Hold ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Home’ keys and press Power-On.

RIFF JTAG Manager v1.56 – Create Your own repair packages !

Added Repair Packs functionality: allows customers to create own resurrectors.
Advanced RIFFBOX customers will be able to create own repair modules for local use only, while RIFFBOX customers with special permissions will be able to distribute own repair packs to all RIFFBOX users.
Updates list is re-organized:
1. added feature to sort updates by name and by date,
2. updates not browsed by user are marked with bold font for more convenient distinguish of old/new files,
3. added update files tree view – update files are classified by folders for better convenience,
4. search file name feature is added: press CTRL+F to open Instant Search window.
Timeout if user was deciding which update files to download for too long time is fixed, now there is no timeout,
User can do selecting files before clicking Download button for as long time as he wishes.
Leading and trailing spaces are removed automatically from login name during registration

JTAG Manager [BETA 4]
- Añadida la opción de lectura eMMC firmware (firmware se almacena en formato * .riffemmcfw)
Para lectura de firmware que tenga que seleccionar el chip de la lista
- * .riffemmcfw Archivos de firmware eMMC ahora se utilizan por RIFF para actualizaciones de firmware (archivos binarios de fricción son compatibles también)
- Datos de tiempo transcurrido añadido para las etapas de actualización del firmware eMMC
- Se ha añadido información eMMC Testpoint se presentan (archivos de información deben ser descargados de apoyo y se encuentran en la carpeta del Administrador de JTAG 'Documentos'.
- Se ha añadido CMD42 Bloqueo / Desbloqueo de funcionalidad para eMMC. El usuario puede configurar / cambiar / eliminar la contraseña para proteger / desproteger (bloqueo / unclock) la partición de área de usuario
- Se ha añadido la partición de área de usuario forzado Borrar para borrar la partición bloqueado Área de usuario y restablecer así Bloqueo del dispositivo / desbloquear el estado y la contraseña (consecuencias de CMD42)
- Agregado Samsung fábrica de borrado que borra y re-formatea los chips de Samsung eMMC.

RIFF Box Firmware v1.48

- New SD/MMC Interface is added for RIFF1: the CPLD is used for data shifting at max 8MHz rate.
As the eMMC signals the TDI, TMS, RTCX, and TDO signals on JTAG Connector are used. Read/Write speeds at 8MHz are aprroximately 800KB/sec - read, 365KB/s - write.
Since the new SD/MMC Interface shares the JTAG port connector, in the JTAG Manager in the SD/MMC Interface list, it is named as 'JTAG';
- The eMMC Read/Write speeds for GPIO (RJ-45) SD/MMC Interface are increased: 260KB/s - read, 360 KB/s - write (compare with Firmware 1.47: ~198 KB/s - read, 190 KB/s - write)
- The eMMC Read speeds for RIFF2 (30PN) SD/MMC Interface are increased: at SD/MMC Clock Speed = 34MHz: ~9.50MB/s - read (compare with Firmware 1.47: ~7.80 MB/s - read)
- The eMMC Write speeds for RIFF2 (30PN) SD/MMC Interface are increased more than 20x(!!!) times: at SD/MMC Clock Speed = 34MHz: 6.40MB/s - write (compare with Firmware 1.47: ~390 KB/s - write)

- Added selection of SD/MMC H/W Interface: currently are available:

- Fixed buffer overrun bug in RIFF2 firmware, which caused getting chaotically corrupted data during the eMMC Read operations
- Added one-time Start Trial Period feature for RIFF v1 users


RIFF Remote Helper v1.10

- RIFF Box v1 SD/eMMC interface via JTAG port (CPLD):

In order to maximize read/write speed on v1 hardware, we decided to update CPLD firmware and use 20 pin port to connect SD/eMMC to RIFF Box.
Please note that RJ45 port remains functional, too.


- One Time Trial for v1 users:
For those users with expired accounts, who want to test new features for free, we added optional function. Upon connecting to RIFF Box license server, You'll be prompted to activate Trial Period (15 days) which will enable Your box with all current updates and functions.

- Support activations are permanent from now.
All users who activate their account will get "Forever" status (Including those who activated support in last 3 months). This means that there will be no more account expiration.
